The Village

A community to last a thousand years

  1. A traditional village square: the village center has a chapel, space for events, homeschooling co-ops and a Catholic school, retail spaces for village members who might want to open a bakery or trade arts and crafts. The center of the square will have a park and sports facilities.
  2. Closeness to metro: Less than 1 hour commute to a major city. Like the original benedictines, we are not abandoning the cities, but creating our own community on the outskirts. Shuttle available for commuting.
  3. Effortless faithfulness: A joyful and loving village culture. Shared celebration of feast days, prayer walks and organized pilgrimages

About Us

Built By Catholic Families, For Catholic Families

As Catholic founders we found ourselves in the situation of wishing we had neighbors we could trust. We had to recreate the benefits of a village in our own home, at great effort. While we wanted to remain in close contact with a major metro area, we also wanted our children to have the benefit of a magical childhood where they could roam free in nature. We discovered there are thousands of other families like ours, so we decided we had to build it. We set out to make the village we wish we had growing up, a place wherour children could leave the house and come back when it's dark, where we can walk to mass and meet our friends along the way.

First village: Napa Valley, California

We are in active talks to acquire land in Napa for the first village.

The first village is tentatively named Saint Maximillian, named after the innovative Catholic saint who founded his own media monastery and was ambitious for Christ. The village will be tailored to the people living there, including founders, builders and artists. Napa is a beautiful area well suited for our village, with less than 1 hour commute to San Francisco. Prices start at $500k for a single-family home.
